INSIDE WEDDINGS

Margi Kent is the visionary behind a custom designed wedding gown and veil featured in the latest issue of Inside Weddings. The bride, Suzanne Koenig, needed a gown as grand and elegant as the venue, The Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. Margi Kent designed a gown worthy of the red carpet to match the couple's movie-themed celebration. The groom, Gary Schafner, is known to be a savvy punster so Kent embroidered the words "Union Pacific" on Suzanne's train in silver metallic thread surrounded by hundreds of hand beaded crystals as a surprise for the groom. Pick up the Spring 2009 issue of Inside Weddings to see this truly elegant and show stopping gown.

Margi Kent Fashion Show

Margi Kent unveiled her Fall ‘09 Womenswear Collection at the much buzzed about runway show in New York City earlier this May. Coupling art with fashion, the event was held at Chelsea’s chic and sophisticated Hosfelt Gallery, which provided an industrial edge to the architectural looks that walked down the catwalk.

It’s been only mere days since her return to L.A., yet a heat has been spread among the tastemakers of fashion in the blogosphere, who are eagerly anticipating Kent’s next move.

“Keep your eye out for Margi Kent…Kent fuses art with fashion, creating interesting , unique pieces packed with whimsy and charm. [She] creates cocktail dresses for the thinking girl: cute, fun, perhaps with a nod to a current trend, but overall entirely different from the masses. Working closely with Stevie Nicks, Kent earned the name “The Rock N’ Roll Doctor” because of her ability to fix any fashion problem the stage performer may encounter. From casual day wear to bridal gowns, Margi Kent has a solution. The doctor is in.” – GlamChic

“Kent’s newest collection has pieces to keep you looking like the best dressed one in the room no matter what the occasion, from more casual daytime wear to cocktail dresses, separates, evening gowns and even bridal wear. Each piece Kent showcased was beautifully constructed to not only flatter the wearer but to transform the pieces from simple frocks to wearable pieces of art…Kent’s love of art and fashion, and fashion AS art truly came through in this breathtaking collection. Kent has once again earned her place among the fashion elite.” – I’m Not Obsessed

“I’ll be looking out for Margi Kent next time, after all this girl has got attitude.” – Scallywag & Vagabond

“After being invited to attend [the] first ever Fall ’09 fashion show for celebrity stylist Margi Kent, I understand why GQ Magazine nicknamed her “the rock and roll doctor.” So many edged out distressed pieces mixed in with classic staples. The collection ranged from day to evening to bridal. Basically a woman’s life.” – Where Did u Get That

“[The] gorgeous bridal gowns from her collection would make any bride stop in her tracks.” – The Bridal Wishlist
